A Game of Thrones star slagged off Belfast on a US talk show and people aren't happy
GAME OF THRONES star Kit Harrington has landed himself in a bit of hot water after he openly slagged Belfast during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
The actor, who plays Jon Snow on the show, was discussing the forthcoming season of Game of Thrones when it was put to him that he hadn’t had the chance to shoot in glitzy locations during his time on the show.
As Seth Meyers put it, “Your part isn’t in the nice places.”
Harrington explained that he had spent “a lot of time in Belfast” and advised travelers that it’s “wonderful for two or three days” but no more.
He then went on to describe the tourist board as “a wonderful, depressing tourist board” for actively promoting three things – the construction of the Titanic, having the most bombed hotel in Europe and, now, Game of Thrones.
While Harrington’s comments elicited laughs on the show, they haven’t sat well with a lot of Belfast natives with many taking to Twitter to criticise the actor’s comments.

However, some people have agreed with the actor’s slightly harsh assessment.
